Farming Harvester Ants

Here we have a story about ants that plant seeds so that they can then eat the soft germinated parts.

Seed cases can be very hard to crack open, even for ants, so they plant the seeds and wait for them germinate. The germination process naturally cracks the outer shell of the seed allowing the ants to get access to the softer insides of the seed.
